Stephen Quantrill
Executive Chairman
Stephen Quantrill became Chairman of the Board in September 2021, having served on the Twinza Board since May 2014. He is a chartered engineer with over 25 years’ of international experience in multifaceted roles in business ownership, company Chairmanships and Directorships. His experience as a business leader, shareholder and advisor has encompassed energy and natural resource companies, investment, financial and engineering services, property, bio-technology and the private equity arena.
Stephen is the former Executive Chairman of McRae Investments, the diversified investment holding company established by Harold Clough in 1965, and also currently acts as a Director of ASX-listed Tombador Iron (ASX:TI1). He holds a Bachelor of Science (Civil Engineering), Bachelor of Commerce, and a Masters of Business Administration, all awarded with first class honours. He is a Fellow of FINSIA, a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and an Engineering Executive Member of Engineers Australia.
Erick Kowa
Executive Director
Erick is a PNG national and commenced working with Twinza and the Pasca A project in 2014. Erick has been instrumental in promoting the development of Pasca A, emphasising the mutual benefit to both the State and Twinza. He has been an instrumental part of the negotiation team for the Pasca A Gas Agreement. Erick was made an Executive Director of Twinza in September 2021.
He has production engineering experience, starting with CH4 Gas (now Arrow Energy) in coal bed methane production, then with Oil Search Limited in the PNG highlands. Erick has extensive project management, global upstream capital projects assessment experience with Independent Project Analysis (IPA) Inc. where he was involved with evaluation of oil and gas project developments predominantly in the Asia-Pacific region.
Erick holds a BEng from University of Queensland in Chemical Engineering and an MSc from the University of Aberdeen in Oil and Gas Engineering.
Julian Ball
Non-Executive Director
Julian Ball is the Head of the Investment and Portfolio Management Team of Kerogen Capital Ltd with responsibility for the investment and portfolio management functions.
He has more than 25 years of experience in private equity and investment banking. Prior to joining Kerogen, Julian was a senior member of J.P. Morgan Private Capital Asia, a principal investments team, where he was responsible for managing the fund’s operations and leading and monitoring investments. Previously he was a Managing Director of Ritchie Capital Management (Asia). Prior to this, he was at J.P. Morgan in Hong Kong, where he advised on M&A and capital raisings primarily in the energy and natural resources sector, and also headed the Financial Restructuring Advisory practice.
Julian holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom. He is a Fellow of the institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales where he holds a Diploma in Corporate Finance and a fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Julian is a member of the Boards of AJ Lucas and Twinza Oil Limited.
Stuart Brown
Non-executive Director
Stuart is a petroleum geologist with over 35 years’ experience at technical, managerial, executive and Board levels in international oil and gas companies, Woodside Petroleum and Shell.
From 2007 to 2012 Stuart held the position of Vice President Strategic Planning at Woodside responsible for the management of Woodside’s corporate strategic planning process and investment reviews. Stuart’s other roles included International Business Development Manager at Woodside and Regional Business Advisor at Shell International Exploration & Production. He has also held senior management and exploration positions at Shell in the UK, Africa, the Middle East and Australia.
Since 2012, Stuart has provided independent technical and strategic consultancy services to the oil and gas industry, Governments, investment banks, equity analysts and hedge funds.
Stuart has a First Class Honours Degree in Petroleum Geology from Sydney University, Sydney Australia.
Stefan White
Non-executive Deputy Chairman
Stefan White has over 20 years of advisory, investment and executive leadership experience spanning project finance, private & public credit, investment banking and restructuring mandates, with a strong focus on energy and commodity markets in Southeast Asia and Australia. Stefan joined as a Non-executive Director in November 2021 and became Non-executive Deputy Chairman in July 2022.
Stefan has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in the United States.
Bill Clough
Alternative Director
In 1984, Bill Clough joined his family’s engineering construction company, Clough Engineering Group as business development manager. Bill was appointed to the Clough Limited board as a non-executive director from 1994 until 2002. Clough Limited was listed on the ASX in 1998.
In Brazil, Bill founded Colomi Iron in 2003, in the state of Bahia, securing a dominant position in the area with a potential world class resource in excess of 5 billion tonnes of magnetite iron ore deposit. Also in Brazil, Bill founded and was the former Chairman of Mirabela Nickel, listed on the ASX and TSX and former CEO and founder of Serabi Gold plc listed on the AIM and TSX.
Bill holds a Bachelor of Geology Degree and a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) Degree from the University of Western Australia.
Bill was founder of Twinza Oil Limited in 2004.
Ivor Orchard
Alternative Director
Ivor Orchard has over 35 years of energy and natural resources experience spanning private equity, investment banking and management in the oil and gas industry.
He is a Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Kerogen Capital Ltd, a global funds manager specialising in upstream oil and gas. Prior to Kerogen, Ivor spent 20 years in energy and natural resources investment banking principally at J.P. Morgan where he was a Managing Director and Head of the Energy and Natural Resources Group in Asia Pacific; and previously as a director at CS First Boston in Australia and New Zealand. Ivor also spent 10 years with the Royal Dutch/Shell Group, where he served (among other positions) as Managing Director of the Shell Companies in Korea and Deputy Treasurer (Head of Corporate and Project Finance) of Shell UK Ltd.
Ivor holds a Master of Arts Degree in Economics and Law from Cambridge University in England and is a Barrister-at-Law of England and Wales.
Ivor was the recipient of the Oil and Gas Council's Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019.
